At least two killed in shooting spree in southern Spain

At least two people were killed and four others seriously injured in a shooting in southern Spain, police said on Tuesday.

The shooting occurred at 11.15pm on Monday night at a house in the El Canalillo neighbourhood of El Ejido, Andalucía.

The two people who died were related to the man suspected of carrying out the shooting, a Civil Guard police spokesperson said, adding that a suspect has been arrested.

Two of the injured are under 18, local media reported.

An investigation has been launched with a large police presence still on the scene.

Sources told Europa Press the suspect handed himself in to local police early on Tuesday after initially fleeing.

The Independent has contacted the Civil Guard for comment.
