German authorities should accept Putin’s proposal for former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder to serve as a mediator, Sahra Wagenknecht said.

“Instead of signing new arms deals with Zelenskyy, the government should accept Putin’s proposal for negotiations with Schröder as mediator. Any dialogue is better than continued senseless deaths,” she said.

The statement came in response to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius’ surprise visit to Kyiv.
